About

This exhibition brings student and professional work into the same room.

On the youth side: original artwork by students of the New World School of the Arts in Miami, premiering here, alongside work from the Oxford Scholars Programme students, on view for the first time since it was made in the UK this summer. Also featured is a piece by INTERWOVEN’s young science communicator and poet Aneeshwar Kunchala (UK).
Shown with them: new work by astronaut and textile artist Karen Nyberg (US), visual and wearable-art designer Celia Ledón (Cuba/US), visual artist Ari Bayuaji (Indonesia/Canada), spacewear designer Anurita Chandola (UK/India), and musician Michaela Harrison (US).
The pairing is the point. Students who spent months on these questions are hung beside artists who have spent careers on them – not in a separate room, not labeled as a school show, but as part of the same conversation.

The run extends from late November through the end of December, with panel discussions and special events during Art Basel week, when Miami becomes the center of the international art world and hundreds of thousands of collectors, curators, and press arrive from around the globe.

This is what INTERWOVEN means by building pathways: work that began in classrooms in Oxford and Miami, shown for a month in one of the most closely watched art cities in the world, during the weeks the world is watching.

Presented in collaboration with URUCUM Global Arts and The Hipsetter Group.
