Washington D.C., USA
About
Earth to Space: Arts Breaking the Sky filled the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. in the Spring of 2025 with an unconventional mix of talent: hundreds of musicians and astronauts, poets and researchers, visual artists and engineers, actors and environmentalists, architects and astronomers, dancers and scientists, filmmakers and Nobel laureates.
Curators Alicia Adams and Gilda Almeida invited astronaut Karen Nyberg to participate in various programs along side artist and scientists.
Deep ocean to space is the shape of Karen’s practice. The intersection of arts, science and environment has been the focus of curators Alicia and Gilda for several years. Their expertise and alignment evolved into a new collaboration: INTERWOVEN – Threads that Connect us From Deep Ocean to Deep Space.
